The fruit is a bean with two black seeds. Corylopsis glabrescens is a species of erect shrubs and trees. The leaves are broad, egg-shaped, green-blue. The flowers are bright yellow. Very similar to corylopsis baring corylopsis gotoana (C. gotoana), it is characterized by leaves bluish-green on the upper and whitish on the lower side. Corylopsis chinensis (C. sinensis) is a sprawling shrub with characteristic purple young branches. The leaves are ovate and elliptical in shape, green-blue below, the flowers are pale yellow. There are two varieties: corylopsis chinensis calvensis (C. sinensis var. calvensis) and corylopsis chinensis sinensis (C. sinensis var. sinensis). Corylopsis spikelet (C. spicata) is a highly branching shrub. Young shoots are pubescent. The leaves are broad, egg-shaped to rounded, green-blue. Bright yellow flowers with dark purple anthers are collected in elongated racemes. The Shainbaza variety has egg-shaped leaves and pale -yellow flowers. The species corylopsis veitchiana (C. veitchiana) is a large erect shrub. Cultivation
Plants of the genus Corylopsis are grown in the open ground in single plantings and together with other shrubs. Plant in autumn (in cold winters) or spring. It grows well in fertile moist but well-drained acidic soil. When planting, organic fertilizers are applied at the rate of 5 kg/m2. In spring and summer, a complex fertilizer is added to the water for watering young plants in the amount of 10-20 g per bucket - top dressing is carried out. Prune usually after flowering and only to remove old, damaged and unsightly branches.

Location
Corylopsis can grow both in the sun and in partial shade, as long as the place is protected from the cold wind.
Temperature
These are resistant plants that can tolerate both high and low air temperatures. But due to the fact that they have an early growing season, they bloom early and are quite sensitive to spring frosts.
Watering
Water moderately so that the soil is always moist, but without excess moisture.
Reproduction
For breeding layers, you can use long branches in October. They are cut from the underside and buried in the place of the incision. New plants are separated from the parent after 1-2 years, when the root system develops well, and immediately planted in a permanent place. Semi-woody cuttings 10-15 cm long can be taken in the summer and planted in a mixture of peat and sand (1:1). After the formation of the roots, the seedlings, as soon as it becomes possible to take them in hand, are transplanted into pots one at a time and allowed to winter in a closed, unheated room. Next spring, the plants can be taken out into the open air. air, but it is recommended to plant it finally in the ground after 2 years.
Diseases
There may be damage (browning of the buds, spots on the leaves, cracking of the bark on the trunk and branches) from severe cold caused by late frosts. Therefore, it is recommended to plant plants in a place protected from cold winds. When grown on calcareous, dense and poorly drained soils, plants develop chlorosis. They are treated with preparations based on iron chelates.
Acquisition
Plants of the genus Corylopsis are not sold very often, but they can be found in the best gardening centers and specialized nurseries. The recommended time for purchase is autumn or spring, when they can be planted immediately in the open ground.
