Location

These plants can be planted both in the open sun and in partial shade.

Temperature

These plants, as a rule, are not capricious, they are resistant to both high and low air temperatures, but they are sensitive to late frosts and cold winds.

Watering

It is required only at an early stage of plant development and in dry periods.

Reproduction

Propagate only by cuttings. Semi-lignified cuttings are cut in spring or autumn and stored in a cool room. After root formation in the nearest spring, cuttings are planted singly in new pots, and in the fall or next spring they can be planted in the ground completely. In addition, you can plant semi-woody cuttings of about 40 cm directly into the ground in October, and finally transplant them in the next spring.

Diseases

The fungus Cercospora deutzia causes yellowish-brown spots on the leaves; damage is rarely so severe that it requires treatment with fungicides. Another danger is aphids, insecticide treatment is recommended. When infected with a mining moth, remove the affected parts of the plant.
